While cycling through lovely Amsterdam, I always look around for new things (most of the time the traffic doesn’t approve). Something I see a lot are empty buildings, doing nothing. But, more and more empty spaces are becoming ‘pop up’ locations, temporary spaces for cultural creations. Starting this Saturday (the 25th), the photography festival GRID opens its doors at multiple locations, including a large-scale ‘pop-up’ exhibition-area in Amsterdam. Until the 7th of November, a one kilometre long strip consisting of eight old factory buildings has been transformed into the Cruquius Culture Creation Strip.
